MANILA — More Filipinos may gain better access to quality healthcare as PhilHealth and St. Luke’s Medical Center – Global City strengthen their partnership to provide improved medical services through a new agreement.
President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. led the initiative, highlighting the importance of cooperation between the government and private hospitals in making healthcare more accessible and affordable for Filipinos.
Through the Memorandum of Agreement (MOA), PhilHealth, St. Luke’s, the Department of Health (DOH), and the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) will work together to improve healthcare services, support medical reforms, and strengthen the country’s health insurance program.
Under the partnership, St. Luke’s Medical Center – Global City will reserve at least 10 percent of its beds for basic or ward accommodation, allowing qualified PhilHealth members to access covered services without additional payment under the No Co-Pay policy.President Marcos said financial difficulties should not stop Filipinos from receiving the medical care they need.“Walang pinipiling tao ang sakit,” Marcos said, emphasizing that everyone deserves access to proper healthcare during medical emergencies.PhilHealth Acting President and CEO Dr. Beverly Lorraine C. Ho said the partnership aims to create a stronger and more sustainable healthcare system through better standards, improved services, and efficient support for patients.
St. Luke’s President and CEO Dr. Dennis P. Serrano added that the collaboration will help patients better understand and maximize their PhilHealth benefits.The government said the partnership is part of continuing efforts to improve healthcare delivery and ensure that quality medical services are within reach of more Filipinos.
