MAHINOG, Camiguin — The Mahinog Municipal Police Station is strengthening campus security efforts by increasing police visibility in schools and working closely with teachers, parents, and communities to keep students safe.
The initiative follows President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.’s directive to improve school safety nationwide, encouraging stronger partnerships between law enforcement and educational institutions.Police Lieutenant Eduardo Gacus, deputy chief of police, said officers are conducting regular school visits, foot patrols, and security checks to prevent bullying, student conflicts, and other safety concerns.
Police personnel regularly visit schools such as Mahinog National High School, Sixto Abao National High School, and Columbia St. Michael Parish High School. Officers also stay near school gates during dismissal hours to help monitor students and respond quickly to possible incidents.
Aside from patrols, the police station continues to work with school officials, parents, and barangay leaders through safety meetings and community discussions.The police also conduct information campaigns on bullying prevention, illegal drugs, and child protection to help students become more aware of safety issues.
Through stronger coordination and continuous presence, Mahinog police aim to create a safer learning environment where students can focus on their education without fear.
