ILIGAN CITY — Thirteen local lechon businesses brought their best roasted pork dishes to Indigay sa Lechon 2026, as the Iligan City Government promoted the city’s local food businesses during the Diyandi Festival on Sept. 21.
Organized by the Association of Barangay Councils and the city government, the competition gave lechon sellers a chance to showcase their products, cooking styles, and unique flavors.
Opet Lechon emerged as champion for the second straight year, winning ₱20,000. Tatay Lechon placed first runner-up, followed by Calunod-Tabal Lechon, Gang-Gang Lechon, and Jaime’s Lechon.Participants also shared their cooking practices and ingredients. Calunod-Tabal Lechon House, for example, uses native spices such as garlic, onion, and lemongrass.The event also gave local businesses a chance to connect with customers.
Opet Lechon owner Beverly Bado said their participation helped generate new orders.City officials said the activity aims to strengthen Iligan’s lechon industry while highlighting the skills and products of local entrepreneurs.
