ILIGAN CITY — The city of Iligan is ready to celebrate its culture, traditions, and identity as the Diyandi Festival 2026 features 137 exciting activities from September until October 8.The month-long celebration will bring together religious events, cultural showcases, sports competitions, entertainment programs, and community activities in different areas across the city.
Diyandi Festival Executive Management Board Chairperson Atty. Riezyl Reen P. Angas said the festival is more than just a celebration because it represents the history, faith, traditions, and shared identity of Iliganons.
Mayor Frederick W. Siao also highlighted that Diyandi reflects the pride of the people of Iligan and serves as a way to preserve their culture for future generations.Among the major events lined up are Pagpakanaog, Indigay sa Lechon, Ginuman Fest, Kasadya Street Dancing Festival, Miss Iligan, Parada de San Miguel, concerts, and a fireworks display.
Sports fans can also enjoy competitions in basketball, volleyball, football, swimming, chess, pickleball, esports, martial arts, boxing, motocross, and cycling.The festival will also feature cultural activities such as art exhibits, dance performances, music events, and programs highlighting Iligan’s creativity and heritage.
City officials expect around 56,000 tourists to visit Iligan during the festival, providing opportunities for local businesses and tourism establishments.With strengthened security preparations, traffic management, and emergency response plans, the city government aims to make Diyandi Festival 2026 a safe and memorable celebration for residents and visitors.
