ILIGAN CITY (PIA) Students in a remote upland community in Barangay Rogongon received school supplies, snacks, and educational support through a community outreach program aimed at helping learners continue their studies.
The “Balik Eskwela 2026” Community Outreach Program of the Fraternal Order of Eagles – Philippine Eagles Inc. Northern Mindanao Region XXII, together with partner Eagles clubs, provided assistance to pupils of Kabangahan I Elementary School on August 7.
Aside from school supplies and snacks, the activity also included games and learning activities for the students.The Philippine National Police Special Action Force (PNP-SAF) 11th and the Philippine Army’s 44th Infantry Battalion helped transport the donations to the upland community and provided security during the outreach.
School head Cyril P. Naigal expressed gratitude to the volunteers, saying the support brought happiness to the learners and teachers.Teacher Mia L. Cortes also encouraged students to continue pursuing their education and thanked the groups and agencies that helped make the activity possible.Simpson D. Northern Mindanao Region XXII, said the outreach reflects their commitment to “Service Through Strong Brotherhood.”He added that the support of the military and police was important, especially because reaching Rogongon can be challenging due to difficult road conditions.Through the combined efforts of volunteers, security forces, and community partners, the activity brought hope and encouragement to learners in one of Iligan’s far-flung areas.
