CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY — Returning Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) in Northern Mindanao are receiving stronger support as the Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) expands livelihood programs and protection measures to help them start anew and stay safe from illegal recruitment.
Through KABALIKAT 2026: Partners’ Conversation and Assistance Program for Migrant Workers, DMW-10 brought together government agencies and partners to address the needs of OFWs and improve services for migrant workers and their families.
The agency continues to provide livelihood assistance to qualified OFW returnees, helping them build businesses and create new sources of income after working abroad.
DMW-10 also strengthened efforts against illegal recruitment by working with law enforcement agencies to monitor scams, conduct operations, and protect Filipinos seeking overseas jobs.
The department reminded aspiring OFWs to follow legal recruitment processes, secure proper documents, and seek assistance from authorized government offices before leaving the country.
With stronger partnerships with local governments, DMW aims to bring services closer to OFWs and ensure that every migrant worker receives protection, support, and opportunities for a better future.
