MALAYBALAY CITY — Bukidnon’s inflation rate slowed down to 6.8 percent in July 2026 from 8.6 percent in June, as price increases in food, transportation, housing, and other basic goods became slower, according to the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA).
The slowdown was mainly due to lower price growth in food and non-alcoholic beverages, transport, and utilities. Food inflation dropped to 8.5 percent from 9.9 percent, while transport inflation decreased to 16.9 percent from 20.6 percent.
Despite the improvement, food remained the biggest factor affecting Bukidnon’s inflation, with rice still contributing the most to higher food prices. Rice inflation eased to 30.1 percent in July from 37.9 percent in June.PSA-Bukidnon said other goods also recorded slower price increases, including restaurants, education services, health, and recreation.
Compared with other areas, Northern Mindanao’s inflation rate also slowed to 6.4 percent, while the national inflation rate dropped to 6.2 percent in July.The PSA said the continued monitoring of prices and economic conditions will help guide efforts to manage inflation and support consumers.
