BGC, BFP Open Dialogue as Bangsamoro Coalition Talks Continue

COTABATO CITY — Leaders of the BARMM Grand Coalition (BGC) and the Bangsamoro Federalist Party (BFP) met as part of ongoing efforts to build cooperation and dialogue following the first Bangsamoro parliamentary elections.

The meeting was attended by BFP leaders led by Interim Chief Minister Abdulraof “Sammy Gambar” Macacua, MILG Minister Jordan Bayam, BFP spokesperson MP Atty. Naguib Sinarimbo, and MP-elect Atty. Kitem Kadatuan Jr.Representing the BGC were Lanao del Sur Gov. Mamintal “Bombit” Adiong, Sulu Gov. Abdusakur “Sakur” Tan, Basilan Gov. Mujiv Hataman, former Sultan Kudarat Gov. and TESDA Secretary Suharto “Teng” Mangudadatu, and MP-elect Datu Abdulrahman “Rubbil” Sangki Mangudadatu.The BGC said the meeting was part of its continuing dialogue with political parties and stakeholders in the region.

The coalition said these discussions aim to find common ground and strengthen cooperation toward a peaceful, inclusive, and progressive Bangsamoro.The meeting comes as political parties work toward forming the first elected Bangsamoro government. The 80-member Parliament will convene and elect a Chief Minister after the newly elected members assume office on Oct. 30.

The BGC has previously expressed openness to working with both BFP and UBJP as parties discuss possible cooperation and the formation of a coalition government.
