P10-Million Project Opens Better Farm Access, Safer Night Travel in Plaridel

PLARIDEL, Misamis Occidental — Farmers and residents of Barangay Agunod can now expect easier travel and better nighttime visibility following the completion of a ₱10-million infrastructure project funded through the 2024 Local Government Support Fund-Financial Assistance to Local Government Units (LGSF-FALGU).

The project includes a newly paved farm-to-market road and eight solar-powered streetlights, which were formally turned over to the barangay on Sept. 18.

The improved road is expected to make it easier for farmers to transport their agricultural products, while the solar streetlights provide better visibility for residents and motorists traveling at night.

Municipal Mayor Gadwin E. Handumon said the project is an investment in the community, particularly in helping farmers move their products more efficiently and improving access to the barangay.

Residents also welcomed the improvement, saying the paved road has made transportation and the delivery of farm products easier.DILG Misamis Occidental Provincial Director Edward G. Bhagwani urged barangay officials and residents to help maintain the road and streetlights so the facilities can continue serving the community.
