OZAMIZ CITY, Misamis Occidental — The Bureau of Customs Region 10 (BOC-10) encouraged local entrepreneurs to explore import and export opportunities during a stakeholder forum held on September 9.
The forum, held at the Ozamiz Chamber Function Hall, focused on improving cooperation between customs officials and businesses to make trade processes more efficient.BOC Collection District 10 Collector Arnaldo M. Saulong said customs collections contribute to government programs and encouraged local businesses to participate in international trade.
The event, themed “Strengthening Customs-Business Partnership for Trade Facilitation,” also discussed the need to streamline procedures, promote transparent regulations, and reduce unnecessary delays in business transactions.
Local importers, exporters, and members of the Ozamiz Chamber of Commerce and Industry Foundation Inc. joined the discussion to better understand government trade requirements.City Councilor Cecile Y. Co, representing Mayor Sam Norman Go Fuentes, expressed the city government’s support for expanding local trade.
Tangub City Vice Mayor Tito Decina also attended the forum.Ozamiz Chamber Chairperson and President Elvira D. Tan called for continued dialogue between government agencies and business owners to quickly address problems and improve trade operations.BOC-10 said it will continue working with local businesses to support trade facilitation and strengthen partnerships with regular traders.
