More than 93,000 public school personnel nationwide are set to receive salary increases after the Department of Budget and Management (DBM) released ₱8.68 billion to the Department of Education (DepEd) under the Expanded Career Progression (ECP) System.
The funding will cover salary differentials for 93,344 reclassified teaching positions for Fiscal Years 2025 and 2026. The funds will be processed through DBM regional offices to help ensure timely payment to qualified personnel with issued NOSCAs and appointments.
Acting Budget Secretary Kim Robert C. De Leon said teachers who advance in their careers should also see improvements in their pay.The ECP System allows teachers to move up the career ladder and earn higher salaries without having to leave the classroom.
It recognizes their experience, skills, and professional growth.The government is also proposing ₱12.09 billion for ECP implementation in 2027, which would expand the program and benefit more educators.The move aims to make teaching a more rewarding long-term career while supporting better education for Filipino students.
